Heart Disease Medication- The Possible List Part 1
When diagnosed with heart disease or a related condition, you will most certainly be prescribed some sort of heart disease medication. The list is long and varied of possible drugs you may be prescribed, but I will attempt to cover the basics here.
Aspirin is a very common drug used as heart disease medication. It helps to keep arteries open in individuals who have had an artery opening surgical procedure such as an angioplasty, or a heart bypass. Also it helps lower the risk of having a second heart attack from those who have already experienced one. It is not FDA approved however for consumption by those who don’t currently suffer from heart disease, as it may be harmful and you would need to talk to your doc to carefully weigh the risks vs rewards for your situation.
